What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact Forms On Our Website

When you enter your information via a contact form on our website, the details you enter are sent directly to awakening@jessiemoss.com so that we may respond to your request.

When you enter your information to sign up to our mailing list, your details are added directly into our database so that we may contact you regarding what it is you opted in for – such as new blog posts, upcoming events and specials.

When you book an appointment with us, your data is collected directly into our online booking system (Amelia) which is integrated with WooCommerce. The details you provide when you book your appointment are stored on the back end of our website for our reference, and will be emailed to awakening@jessiemoss.com for possible transfer to other digital and/or non-digital booking data collection systems. 

We only collect the data we need from you in order to contact you upon your request, or to book your appointment. We never share your information with any third parties.

Credit Card Payments

If you choose to pay  with your credit card when booking your appointment, your payment details will be collected via Square, our chosen online payment gateway. Click here to view Square’s Privacy Policy in relation to the collection of your payment information.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Embedded Content From Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

We retain your data in our mailing database for as long as you wish for us to make contact with you – you may unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of emails you receive from us.

If you have booked an appointment with us, your personal details will be stored in our online booking system (Amelia) indefinitely for future reference, particularly if you choose to have more appointments in the future.

 

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments on our site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments on posts may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Other than the automatic collection of your data into our booking system if you book an appointment, or into our online email database (MailChimp), we do not send your data to any third parties.

How we protect your data

Your data is stored on the backend of our website, which is encrypted with an SSL certificate to safeguard your private information. Our hosting service provider also uses world-class digital security, including Cocero DDoS Mitigation and Fortinet Hardware Firewall. This protects your data from being compromised from a brute-force attacks and vulnerabilities.
